Fazeli Cellars on the De Portola Wine Trail Temecula California

Fazeli Cellars is a fun and inviting Moorish styled Persian Heritage winery. The impressive building on the hilltop is beautifully designed with massive wooden front doors, winding staircases, intimate walkways, arched windows and doorways.

Nature is everywhere at Fazeli’s with panaormic views and reclaimed walnut wood bar counters inlaid with turquoise pieces.

“Our roots run deep” motto greets you at the entrance.

Bijan BJ Fazeli, the founder of the winery, refers to himself as a “wine blender” and skillfully makes such wonderful wines as Meritage (a cabernet franc, merlot and cabernet sauvignon blend and my personal favorite) and a red cherry and peppery Phel Phel which is a blend of Cinsaut & Shiraz. Pandemonium is a blend of petite sirah, merlot, cabernet franc, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon and with it’s upside down label denotes one of the winery’s fun whimsical collections.

Thoughtful and meaningful names are used to distinguish the different collections and label designs are created by BJ’s daughter.

Turquoise is the signature color of Fazeli Cellars and is in every room at the winery. The Peacock is also displayed frequently as the Persian throne was called the Peacock Throne and the peacock has those lovely turquoise colors. It is also the name of their wine club.

The Ruby Lounge is a top tier private lounge where Members private room can relax in luxury.

Baba Joon’s Kitchen features middle eastern dishes lovingly prepared by Head Chef Anthony Bartolotta.

Enjoy the selection of walnut panar spread (paneer plus pomegranate), Persian pasties with lamb, potato, garbanzo beans and spices, dolma grape leaves with rice and herbs, tomato jam and jewel rice with barberry. All the dishes pair well with Fazeli’s extensive wine selection.

Fazeli Cellar sells online and at the winery http://www.fazelicellars.com/index.html
